1967 Moe Light Catalog with Fiesta Lights

Along with the 1963 Moe Light Catalog I came across, I also happened upon a 1967 Moe Light catalog. Things get a little less mid-century modern and a little more '70s shag, but there are still a few shots for Moe Light Honeycomb lights:

And some Moe Light Fiesta lights make an appearance as well:

Even in this later catalog, there's enough mid-century lighting that makes it worth flipping through the whole thing.

Shag's Mid-Century Home

If you're into mid-century homes or mid-century art, then you probably already know Shag. His house is exactly like you'd expect it to be, filled with tiki and mid-century furniture. See for yourself.

Mad Men Season 5 Mid-Century Art

The great thing about the internet is that, no matter the subject, there's always someone a little more obsessed than you. For example, Therese got more obsessed with the art in Peggy's apartment on Mad Men than I did. So much so that she tracked one down for herself as well as the original catalog it came from.

Turns out the art in Peggy's apartment is actually a Mosette by Craft Master art kit that crafty mid-century men and women could buy, create and hang. Kind of a paint by numbers, but with glue and crushed marble.

The Art in Peggy's Apartment

I'm still working my way through season 5 of Mad Men and noticed the art in Peggy's apartment. I was reminded of my Robert Lyons art and thought it might actually be by Lyons for a second. The thick outlines are similar to the Lyons art I've seen, but they're also pretty reminiscent of the time. Looking a little closer it almost looks like layered cloth or some other texture, not paint or a print.

After countless searching I'm positive it's not by Lyons, but have no idea who the artist might be. If you happen to know who the mid-century artist is, please let me know in the comments.

Mad Men Season 5 Illustrated

Mad Men season 5 has finally made its way to Netflix. I've watched about half the season in three days. Then today I stumbled on this Mad Men Illustrated tumblr.

I didn't scroll down too far because I didn't want to ruin any episodes I haven't seen yet, but I can't wait to see all the art once I've finished watching season five.
