My dad passed down a few mid-century wooden ornaments. He made them in college. They were little wood sets that you glued together and painted yourself. I've got to say, my dad did a pretty outstanding job of painting them.
There is a: Dove
Snowflake
Star
British soldier
Camel
Church
Train
and wise man.
He also passed on this cloth owl, which is a bit crazy, but I still love it.
These are all hanging on the mini-tree in the kid's bedroom and, collectively, it's a great look.
lol!
ReplyDeleteNot mid century. Those ornaments me out as a paint it yourself kit around the end of the 70s. ;)
Yeah, the early 1970s would be when my dad was in college, so they're solidly '70s. Maybe more retro than true mid-century, but they still look great on a mid-century christmas tree.
DeleteI have these exact same ornaments! My brother and I painted them in the early 70s when we were kids and I put them on my tree every year.
ReplyDeleteWe have the same set. Bought them in a marked down bin in lake okiboji Iowa on on our honeymoon in July 1975. We were so sunburned we could not go out. Still hang most of them on our tree.
