Modern Ocean Creature Lights

Our kitchen ceiling light stopped working. Turns out we need to replace the fixture, which isn't heartbreaking because we don't really like the fixture. I wish one of these ocean creature light fixtures by Roxy Russell Design would work because they're so beautiful, but we'd probably end up hitting our head on it. So the hunt for a mid-century kitchen ceiling light begins.

  1. My grandsons have a real thing for jellyfish, so they'd love one of those in their room.

    1. I'm a cephalopod fan too. For a less big/expensive option there are jellyfish paper weights, which I'm guessing any boy would love (including grownup ones).

  2. At our house when it came time to replace the kitchen fixture, we ended up with the Astron fixture from Rejuvenation. We had the single-light pendant converted to two pendants - that way we can use lower wattage bulbs and it reduces the hard shadowing from a single-bulb light.

Those fixtures you link to are cool, and surprisingly not as pricey as I would have thought initially.

    1. We have more than a few Rejuvenation lights on our list already. We're not able to do pendants in our kitchen because of the ceiling height, but I do love the Astron. If we needed a pendant light, that would definitely be on the list.
