Abandoned Mid-Century Homes

This photo set of abandoned mid-century homes on Flavorwire is gorgeously sad. I, and probably most of you reading this, would move into any one of these homes, even in their current state. It's sad that they got to this point, but hopefully they found someone to love and restore them.

  1. I'd change the photo that you're using for this article. The pictured FLW-designed Turkel House was purchased in 2006 and is in the final stages of being restored.

    1. Thanks for the tip. Right after writing this post I did a little research on some of the houses and found out all about the Turkel House and found out it's being restored. That's great news, and probably something I'll write about in the future.

  2. Unfortunately the asking prices for these is likely out of most peoples budgets, especially with the rehab cost. Not sure of the rest, but the one in Siesta Key is likely sitting on some very pricey property and will likely be demolished. :(

    1. That's probably true, I forget that sometimes the house isn't the expensive part of the real estate. Still sad to see some of them go.
