We've put the final touches on the travel-themed nursery. It's been a pretty great transformation for empty extra bedroom to perfect little space for a little one. Here are the final results:
It's actually paint. You can see it as a work in progress here: http://ouraustinhome.blogspot.com/2010/04/in-progress-nursery-mural.html
We used a digital projector to project a map on the wall. And then it was just making sure we painted inside the lines. It took two days because it took two coats of paint, but it was much easier than I thought it was going to be.
It was already in the room when we moved it (it was a kids room for the previous owners too). We just never got around to changing it, and then it was perfect when we set up our travel nursery. That being said I know you can find it on Amazon.
Congratulations on being featured! So well deserved. Every time I see that map on the wall, I marvel at what a fantastic job you did. And the paint color couldn't have been more perfect.
I don't remember exactly where I bought them, but if you Google "david klein poster" or "david klein print" you'll probably come up with plenty of options
Where did you get the wall decal?!

Can you tell me where you got the airplane hanging from the ceiling? It's awesome!

ReplyDeleteThanks, Dana! (On both accounts.) It was a real treat/surprise to be featured on Apartment Therapy.
DeleteI teach Geography and my husband and I are in the process of buying a mid century home right now. Your travel nursery just made my day. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteDo you remember where you picked up the prints?
